About the Author

Bethany was born and raised in the suburbs of Southern California. She grew up in a Christian home, and for several years thought she was a Christian. When she was ten, she began to question her faith. She knew all that she had been taught in church and by her parents was true and right, but  she had never made Christ her personal Savior and Master of her life. When a friend suggested re-dedicated her life to Christ “just in case”, she did so. She wouldn’t realize until the day before her baptism in that that was when she became saved.

In August of 2006, a friend  brought to light her sin and mistakes in the areas of relationships. That night, she committed to staying pure emotionally, physically, spiritually, and mentally. Her life changed drastically as she began actively pursuing Him through prayer, song, and His Word like she never had before. Two months later at a conference her church held, she was convicted in the area of how she dressed. Her choices of clothing became more modest, though the next months were bumpy as she learned to please God in all areas of her life.

It was then that she began to have a heart for ministry with younger girls. Having gone to public school all of her life, she saw broken hearts and homes every day. Since then, Bethany has been looking for new ways to reach out to her peers, this blog being one outlet.

Some of Bethany’s interests include photography, graphic and web design, writing, and American History. Her biggest dream is to become a wife and mother, but as a fall back, she’s pursuing a career in photography. Bethany has two younger sisters, at the ages of 11 and 3. She has been homeschooling since she began high school.

She can be found on Facebook and AIM, so shoot her an email at somethingreater@gmail.com if you’d like to contact her that way.

 Soli Deo Gloria!
